Visualizing potential impressions
This reference article outlines how to visualize potential impressions.
Prerequisites

Create a Google Ads datastream. For more information, see Collecting data from Google Ads.

Apply the correct Data Mapping for your datastream. For more information, see Introduction to harmonizing data.

Collect data for the datastream. For more information, see Collecting and viewing data.

Make sure that your data extract contains the potential impressions metric. For more information, see Google Ads connector reference.
Procedure
Creating Unfulfilled potential impressions calculated KPI
The following procedure explains how to create a calculated KPI for a that visualizes unfulfilled or unused potential, the potential of impressions which has not been reached.

In the Explore.
, click -
Select the workspace you work with in Explore & Present.

Next to the View tabs at the top of the page, click
Create new view.

In the Dimensions panel, click Datasource to see the options for this field. Click Remove.

In the central Metrics panel, click
Create new calculated KPI.

In the Formula field, paste the following:
(potential_impressions)-(impressions)

Click Validate.

In Calculated KPI Name, write Unfulfilled potential impressions.

Click Create calculated KPI.

In the Explore.
, click -
In the Filter columns field in the , search for Unfulfilled potential impressions and select it.
Creating bar chart with potential impressions
To continue the procedure above and create a bar chart that displays potential impressions compared to impressions and includes the unfulfilled potential impressions, follow these steps:

In the Filter columns field in the , search for Daily and select it.

In the list in the Impressions.

In the list in the Potential Impressions.

In the table that you have created in the middle of the page, click on one of the values in the Impressions column to see visualization options. Click Daily.

Repeat the previous step for Potential Impressions and Unfulfilled potential impressions columns.

Below the diagram which Adverity created under the table, click the Impressions: Daily tab.

In Belongs to yAxis drop-down list, click Potential Impressions.

In Type, click Area spline.

Click the Unfulfilled potential impressions: Daily tab.

In Belongs to yAxis drop-down list, click Potential Impressions.

(Optional) In the Unfulfilled potential impressions: Daily tab, click
More and select the second option marked with
icon.

(Optional) In Color, change the color of the displayed line.

(Optional) In the
Potential Impressions tab, change the name from Potential Impressions to Impressions.

Under Data sets menu, drag Unfulfilled potential to the top. This ensures that the metric is displayed over the top of the other two metrics.
Use similar procedure to visualize Lost impressions (rank) and Lost impressions (budget) as described above. You calculated Lost impressions (rank) and Lost impressions (budget) in the Calculating impression share and related metrics.
