Updating an authorization

This reference explains how to update an authorization.

When you create an authorization, you authorize Adverity to connect to a data source. However, the authorization to connect to data sources may expire for various reasons. For example, some data sources periodically require reauthorization (such as LinkedIn). When an authorization expires, the data fetches fail, and you need to update the authorization. There are several ways to update an authorization, and this article explains one method to update OAuth 2 Authorizations in the Adverity user interface.

To update an authorization, follow these steps:

  1. Select a datastream which uses the authorization.

  2. In the top navigation panel, click Settings.

  3. To the right of the Authorization field, click Edit.

  4. In the Token field, click Authorize.

  5. Choose from one of the following options:

    • To update the authorization with your own account, click Authorize using your own credentials, and log in with your credentials.

    • To let someone else update the authorization, click Send Authorization Update Request, and use the form to send an email to the authorizer.
