Creating simple widgets

This guide explains how to create simple widgets.

Introduction

A widget represents your data, usually as a table or a chart. These types of widgets are also called visualizations. Widgets can also be images, videos and text. Add widgets to a dashboard, which is a collection of one or more widgets displayed on a page.

A dashboard gives you the most up-to-date information about your marketing campaigns. You can share, embed, and export the dashboard, and you can collaborate on a dashboard with others.

This guide uses the example of a Facebook Ads datastream. The procedure described below is similar in all other datastreams.

Prerequisites

Before you complete the procedure in this guide, perform all of the following actions:

  • Make sure that your data extract contains the following fields:

    • campaign_name

    • impressions

Procedure

To create widgets, follow these steps:

  1. In the platform navigation menu, click Explore.

  2. Select the workspace you work with in Explore & Present.

  3. Next to the View tabs at the top of the page, click Create new view.

  4. In the Dimensions panel, click Datasource to see the options for this field. Click Remove.

  5. In the list in the left navigation panel, select a dimension. This guide uses Campaign Name as an example.

  6. In the list in the left navigation panel, select a metric. This guide uses Impressions as an example.

  1. In the table that you have created in the middle of the page, click on one of the values in the Impressions column to see visualization options. Click All Campaign Names.

As a result, you see a table and a chart widget which display the number of impressions each campaign has generated.
