Changing user permissions
This guide explains how to change a user's permissions within Adverity.
Introduction
User permissions determine which pages of Adverity a user can access and what objects they can create. The permissions are different depending on the part of the Adverity platform.

In Adverity, permissions are controlled by the groups to which a user is assigned.

In Explore & Present, permissions are controlled by a role assigned to a user.
Changing user permissions in Adverity
Change a user's permission in Adverity by assigning them to groups.
To assign groups to a user in Adverity, follow these steps:

Select the workspace you work with in Adverity and then, in the , click Administration.

In the Users.
, click -
Click on the email address of the user whose permissions are to be updated.

In Groups, select the groups to which the user will belong. Groups control a user's permissions within Adverity. For more information on what permissions are associated with a group, see Table of user permissions associated with each group.

Click Save.
As a result, the user permissions are updated based on the groups assigned to the user.

Changing user permissions in Explore & Present
Change a user's permission in Explore & Present by assigning them to a role. If a certain role does not have the right set of permissions, you can create a new role. For more information, see Creating a new role in Explore & Present.
To assign a user to a role in Explore & Present, follow these steps:

In the Explore.

Select the workspace you work with in Explore & Present.

In the Users.
, click -
Find the row of the user to which a role is to be assigned and click Show.

In Role, select the role to assign to a user. Next to the name of the role there will be two-digit identifiers, such as BA, DA or EX, these indicate which permissions are associated with the role. For more information on the two-digit identifiers and permissions, see Table of the two-digit identifiers for the roles.

Click Update.
As a result, the user permissions are updated based on the role assigned to the user.

User assigned to this role can access the Present page and view all dashboards within the workspaces they have access to. Users cannot edit dashboards. By default, users are assigned to this role. |

Users assigned to this role can access the Load section of the Administration, allowing users you to see Transfer end-points and manual data imports. |

Users assigned to this role can access the Plan page where users can access media plans and the Campaign Monitoring section. Assign a user to this role if you want them to be a dashboard collaborator. If you do not have the Plan page on your Adverity instance, users do not need to be assigned to this role to be a dashboard collaborator. |

Manage |
Users assigned to this role can access the Explore section and Present section of the Administration page. Users assigned to this role can configure the various settings of the Explore and Present pages. |

Users assigned to this role can add a news feed from Proactive Analytics to a dashboard in the Present page. |

Transform |
Users assigned to this role can access the Enrich section of the Administration page. Users can view the enrichment rules that have been applied to data extracts within the workspaces the user has access to. |
Creating a new role in Explore & Present
If a certain role does not have the right set of permissions, you can create a new custom role. To create a new role in Explore & Present, follow these steps:

In the Explore.
, click -
Select the workspace you work with in Explore & Present.

In the Roles.
, click -
In the top, right corner of the page, click Add role.

In Role Name, enter a name for the new role.

Select the checkboxes of the pages of Adverity that the role will grant access to. For example, select the Plan checkbox and users assigned to this role can access the Plan element.

Click Create.
As a result, the role is created and users can now be assigned to the newly created role.
Enabling users to access Proactive Analytics
To enable users to access Proactive Analytics, perform at least one of the following actions:

To enable a user to see findings in Proactive Analytics, assign the user to at least the Viewer group or to a group with higher permissions in Adverity. For more information, see Changing user permissions in Adverity.

To enable a user to onboard data sources to Proactive Analytics, assign the user to the Admin group in Adverity. For more information, see Changing user permissions in Adverity.

To enable a user to add a news feed from Proactive Analytics to a dashboard in the Present page, assign the user to a role with Proactive Analytics permissions in Explore & Present. A role with these permissions has the RE identifier. For more information, see Changing user permissions in Explore & Present.
